HYDERABAD: 21-year-old Mohammad Khursheed Hussain from Talab Katta area in the Old City claims to have broken the existing Guinness world record for the fastest time to type alphabets from A to Z with alternate spaces.He achieved the feat in just 3.43 seconds here on Thursday. A BTech third-year student at the Keshava Memorial Institute of Technology, Hussain has been typing since he was in Class VIII.“I have always been great at typing but I realised I could aim for a world record only after my friends started discussing the speed at which I type,” an elated Hussain said after typing the alphabets in the blink of an eye.He attributed his success to the unconditional support his family members and college authorities extended to him.He will now send video footage of his feat to the Guinness Book of World Records authorities for verification and certification. The process is likely to take a few months but Hussian is optimistic about a positive response. “I have been in talks with the experts and have sought guidance in every aspect.Now, I have broken the record as well,” he said. The previous Guinness record for the same was 3.52 seconds, which was achieved by A Sudhakar Raju of Anantapur district.Hussain’s record attempt was made at the Sardar Patel auditorium of the Keshava Memorial Institute of Technology. Body builder and coach Mir Mohtesham Ali Khan, Himayatnagar corporator J Hemalatha Vinod Yadav, Panjagutta ACP Venkat Narasimha and others witnessed the youngster in action.Hussain hails from a middle-class family and lives with his parents and two younger brothers at Talab Katta. “My father is an employee at the Osmania general hospital and mother is a home-maker. My brothers are studying intermediate and high school respectively,” he said.
