NAGAPATTINAM: Three persons were killed in a road accident in Sirkazhi in the wee hours of Sunday.According to the police, Boopalan (33), of Kumbakonam along with his friends Senthil (26) and Arulraj (22) were proceeding to Kumbakonam in a car. Senthil was driving the car when around 2 am on Sunday, the vehicle collided with a lorry coming from Karaikal near the Sirkazhi bypass road. All three in the car died on the spot. Muralidharan, the driver of the lorry, was arrested. A case has been registered in this regard.15 Injured as Two Govt Buses CollideAs many as 15 persons were injured when two TNSTC buses collided near Porayar on Sunday. According to sources, an SETC bus bound for Nagapattinam and another bound for Chennai collided at Olugaimangalam on NH 45A on Sunday afternoon. As many as 15 passengers, including the driver of one of the buses were injured. All the injured were taken to the Karaikal GH. On information, Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister K A Jayapaul, District Collector T Munusamy, Poompuhar MLA Paunraj and others visited the injured at the hospital. Porayar police have registered a case.
