The IIFA Awards 2024 are being held on Saturday, September 28 in Abu Dhabi. Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return as the host this year. Shah Rukh Khan’s introduction on stage will be made by a special performance, headlined by ace rapper, Badshah. Badshah made this revelation to News18 Showsha at the IIFA 2024 green carpet.
When asked about meeting Shah Rukh Khan at the event, Badshah shook his legs to show his nervousness and told News18 Showsha, “My legs are shaking.” He then revealed that he would be introducing Shah Rukh Khan on stage with a special act. “I’m actually introducing sir on stage. Did I just say that? You will need to watch this. This is going to be an act and a half,” he said.
Badshah also touched upon the language and cultural barriers being blurred with the popularity of Pan-Indian films and cross-border collaborations. “I think good music is good music. Doesn’t matter where it comes from. We as music listeners, don’t believe in borders,” he said.
Meanwhile, the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards have always been a star-studded event, but this year’s edition in Abu Dhabi may feature an extra special reunion. Andrea Timmins, co-founder of IIFA, recently teased fans about a potential appearance by Salman Khan on stage with Shah Rukh Khan.
“Salman is family, and we’ve known each other for over 30 years. He’s been a part of every IIFA show, and we definitely miss him. It has always been my dream to get Salman and Shah Rukh together on the IIFA stage. Unfortunately, due to his hectic schedule with Bigg Boss and his upcoming movie shoot, he might not be able to attend the event. But maybe he’ll surprise us and drop in on the 28th,” Andrea revealed in an interview with Instant Bollywood.
Last year, Salman completed 21 years of his association with IIFA, taking centre stage as the host in 2022. While he didn’t host last year, he was one of the key performers. This time around, the actor is busy with his movie ‘Sikandar’ and Bigg Boss 18, making it difficult for him to commit to the full weekend. However, Andrea’s comments have sparked speculation that he may still make a surprise appearance.
While it is not confirmed whether Salman will be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan on stage, fans are excited to see SRK take Abu Dhabi by storm with his charm.
