Some of the key members of India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2024 were seen back together. This includes the likes of the former Head Coach, Rahul Dravid along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant during a training session ahead of India’s upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
The four players had their moments as India went on to claim their second T20 World Cup title by beating South Africa in the thrilling finale at Barbados. Dravid was seen having a chat with Rohit, Pant and Kohli during a training session, held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, who play host to the first Test against the Kiwis.
Dravid has moved on from his role with the Indian team and has reunited with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League where he would become the Head Coach of the franchise.
Rohit and Kohli on the other hand, retired from T20 internationals following the World Cup victory and have switched focus to the side’s ongoing Test campaign where they hope to take the Test team to their third World Test Championship final to possibly take home the Test title.

Pant managed to complete his return to cricket by coming back to the Test squad that took on Bangladesh at home. With a strong show in the opening Test, the wicketkeeper-batter looks set to be India’s first-choice keeper in the longest format of the game.
The Indian team have witnessed a dominant period, particularly in the Test format where the side is yet to suffer a series defeat at home since the one against England in 2012.
The side led by Rohit would hope that they can continue their strong showing in home conditions with the Kiwis being a much stronger side than Bangladesh. India would hope to pick up all three wins if possible to ensure that they have the best possible chance to seal their spot in the WTC Final.
The first Test will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This would be followed by the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune playing host for the second game beginning on October 24 and finally the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the final match of the series.
