Mumbai: The benchmark Sensex on Tuesday gained over 94 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on the back of sustained buying by funds in heavyweights blue-chip stocks, triggered by firming Asian markets.
The 30-share index, Sensex, which gained 1.23 points on Monday, was up by another 94.22 points to 13,514.93 in first five minutes of trading.
The wide-based National Stock Exchange, Nifty also rose by 23.55 points to trade at 3879.70.
The major support came in from heavy-weights like Reliance Industries, Reliance Energy, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Udyog, Wipro, Infosys Technologies, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Larsen and Toubro, Tata Motors and Grasim Industries.
