Recalling Rachin’s early fascination with the sport Balakrishna Adiga reminisces, “He started evincing keen interest in cricket, as early as when he was six years old, he was trained since then rigorously by his father.”

Now as New Zealand and India prepare for the high-voltage clash in the semifinals Adiga finds himself in a unique position batting for his grandson. “In the semifinals between India and New Zealand I want to see the best of his performance irrespective of the result,” he asserts.

Rachin’s recent visit to his grandparents’ house in Bengaluru during ICC World Cup where his grandmother performed ‘Nazar Utharna’ ritual had gone viral on the internet. Speaking on his visits to their house Adiga reveals Rachin’s fondness for traditional South Indian food. “Whenever he visits our house at Bengaluru, he relishes south Indian food, especially Idli and Dosa,” says Adiga.

Rachin’s recent remake about how Bengaluru and Chinnaswamy stays close to hai heart and his wish to see himself playing a bit more here has set off RCB fans demanding the Bengaluru franchise to pick the IT city’s blue-eyed boy to the team ahead of the next IPL. Being cautious about his future Adiga says, “It is too early to say anything about this,” leaving the time to unfold his grandson’s path.

Balakrishna Adiga with his unwavering support and a sagely advice to his grandson says,” Put heart and soul to achieve the best in whichever field you choose to excel.”

Stylish left-handed New Zealand batter Ravindra, who rose to fame in his maiden ICC World Cup call, has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring highest runs in a single edition of World Cup before 25. Ravindra has scored three centuries and two fifties and is the leading run-scorer for New Zealand in 2023 Cricket World Cup.
