The latest episode of Monday Night Raw had a chaotic opening, with Randy Orton reminding the crowd of his brutal attack on Gunther. That’s when the Ring General appeared at the arena and expressed his desire to take revenge at the upcoming WWE Bash in Berlin.
When all of these were going on, Ludwig Kaiser showed up and attacked Orton from behind. The Viper didn’t have much time to react as Gunther came forward and knocked him down with a clothesline. Later on the show, Orton took on Kaiser in a singles bout, where the former secured a commanding win.
Let’s take a look at the other fights that unfolded on August 19th’s episode of RAW:
Sheamus vs Pete Dunne:
The duo traded some strikes inside the ring before Pete Dunne thrashed Sheamus into the steel steps. Sheamus was preparing a Beats of Bodhran but Dunne managed to reverse it. Dunne kept attacking on his opponent’s injured hand. Sheamus ultimately sealed the deal with the Brogue kick.
Ivy Nile vs Maxxine Dupri:
Ivy Nile was dominating the fight when lights went out, with Wyatts and Nikki Cross coming out of the tunnel. They attacked Nile in the ring and the match was called off.
The Final Testament vs The New Day & Odyssey Jones:
Kross and Kofi began the battle before Scarlett caused a distraction. It allowed AOP to take down Kofi. Kross then shifted his focus to Jones, who countered with the Trouble in Paradise. Jones then finished the job by using the Boss Man Slam on Akam.
The Miz vs Bronson Reed:
The Miz arranged some trash cans, kendo sticks and a table. Bronson Reed seemed ready for it as he smashed Miz on the trash cans before stepping on his head. He followed it up with a big Lariat. Miz attempted the Skull Crushing but ended up receiving a Death Valley Driver. Reed came up with the Tsunami and picked up the win.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match– Unholy Union vs Damage CTRL vs Pure Fusion Collective:
Unholy Union showcased some smart moves while Pure Fusion Collective put up a neck-and-neck fight. Kairi took down PFC with a cross body off the top rope. In the end, the Unholy Union used the backstabber and combined it with a top-rope slam to defend the Women’s Championship title.
Randy Orton vs Ludwig Kaiser:
Randy Orton threw Ludwig Kaiser out of the ring and followed it up with a clothesline. The duo came back into the ring when Orton attacked his opponent with a power slam and the DDT. Orton then got the RKO to register his first single victory since the King of the Ring tournament in May.
