‘Not Secretly Fathered’: Elon Musk Welcomes His 12th Child, Says Issuing A Press Release Would’ve Been ‘Bizarre’

Elon Musk welcomed his 12th child this year and slammed reports that he ‘secretly fathered’ the new baby. He said on social media site X, which he owns, that his new baby with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis was far from a “secret” and that his friends and family members knew.

The billionaire quipped that issuing a press release to announce that he and Zilis were having a child would’ve just been “bizarre”.

“As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false. All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret’,” Musk was quoted as saying by Page Six.

This is Elon Musk’s third child with Zilis and his 12th child. The parents have not yet revealed the name and the sex of the new baby.

Elon, while speaking to the news outlet, reiterated his concern over population decline and fall in birth rates. “Many countries are already well below replacement rate, and the trend is that almost all will be. This is simply a fact, not a ‘debunked theory’,” Elon Musk was quoted as saying.

“2.1 kids is a replacement rate, and obviously the world as a whole will soon drop below that point,” Musk further added.

Elon Musk, the Tesla mogul, had previously welcomed twins Strider and Azure with Zilis in November 2021. Shortly after, he and alt-pop singer Grimes had Exa Dark Sideræl via surrogate. Exa’s, also known as Y, existence was revealed in a Vanity Fair article when the child cried during Grimes’ interview with the magazine.

“A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces, by far,” Elon Musk said in 2022 and approved big families.

Grimes, 36, is currently involved in a legal dispute with Elon Musk over parental rights to their three children.

Despite the ongoing custody battle, Elon Musk has been seen publicly with his 4-year-old son, X (born X Æ A-12), at various events. They were spotted together at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in February, the Tesla plant in Germany in March, and most recently at the Cannes Lions festival in France earlier this month.

Elon Musk also shares twins Griffin and Vivian, as well as triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, with his ex-wife, Justine Musk.
