A huge truck driven by a French-Tunisian ploughed through Bastille Day revelers in the French city of Nice on Thursday killing at least 84 people and injuring close to a hundred.
The driver was shot dead after he drove the truck two kilometres through the festive crowd on the Promenade des Anglais, leaving the area strewn with bodies.
Witnesses said the truck driver accelerated as he reached the crowd and zigzagged through the street and kerb trying to mow down the maximum number of people.
Some of them captured on their phone cameras the horror that unfolded before their eyes. The videos showed hundreds fleeing in panic as the large white truck went on a rampage knocking down scores of people.
