The Supreme Court in Pakistan will deliver its verdict today in the high-profile Panama Papers case involving the country’s Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif and his family. Elections in Pakistan next year have increased the significance of the verdict for Sharif and his PML-N party.
In a 3-2 split verdict that had two dissenting notes, the Supreme Court in Pakistan has ordered further probe into the Panama Papers case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The court has ordered the setting up of a joint investigation team which has to submit its report in 60 days. Sharif and family have been ordered to appear before the probe team when it is formed.
