From cooking food on a volcano to making pasta on the beach, social media is filled with ample videos that feature different offbeat foodie experiences in unusual spots. These videos have always raised the eyebrows of viewers online, and the latest clip is no exception to that. Recently, a video of a woman making a ‘seafood boil’ in her Tesla is grabbing the eyeballs of many online.

The Instagram Reel opens to show the vlogger seated inside her Tesla with all the ingredients ready to make the seafood boil. She has a chopping board arranged on her lap and what appears to be a portable 2-in-1 electric hot pot and grill beside her in the electric car. As the video progresses, the vlogger starts chopping potatoes and garlic. She then pours water into the boiler and puts the potatoes in it to boil. She then spreads butter on the grill and cooks’ shrimp in it. In the meantime, she removes the boiled potatoes from the pot and arranges all the spices in front. Next, she adds different types of seasoning to a bowl.

Once the shrimp turn crispy, she sets them aside. After that, she unwraps two slabs of butter and adds them to the pot. She then adds the finely chopped garlic to the butter, followed by a bowl of seasoning mix and lemon juice. Simultaneously, she also chops sausages and cooks them on the grill until brown. Once everything is cooked well, she mixes the shrimp, potatoes, and sausages with the other ingredients in the hot pot.

She wraps her chopping board with cling wrap before plating the meal. Then, she starts placing lemon slices on one side and piling the cooked mixture of prawns, potatoes, and sausages on the other. Finally, she squeezes some lemon juice over the shrimp and enjoys the hot meal.

The Instagram Reel has pulled in 4.6 million views so far, and users have chimed in to share their take on the video. In the comments section, many viewers expressed concern over the smell that would pervade the car after cooking seafood, while others were worried about food stains as the interior of the car was all-white.

An Instagram user commented, “Why is everyone so into cooking everywhere but their kitchen?”

A user looked at the brighter side of the video and took to the comment section to explain the benefits of this idea. He wrote, “For some of y’all who are hating, just think of this: There are people all across America who are homeless and living in their cars. While many of them are obviously not Tesla’s, this could serve as a benefit for them because they can see a way to make food that’s 1) healthy and 2) convenient. I think this is a cool concept to take the healthy and convenient route, especially for long road trips! That’s what I think, at least!”

“Girl, that car is about to smell very interesting for the next few days,” said another.

Yet, in a whimsical twist, a user stated, “I suddenly have an idea for what to do during traffic on the way home… Prep dinner.”

An account remarked, “Car smelling like Elon’s MUSK.”

“With the white interior, you’re so brave,” praised a user for taking the risk.

When it comes to cooking meals in unusual places, these makeshift kitchens, set up on wheels or in temporary spaces, have become a trend in the culinary world that cater to our cravings on the move.
