Being the bodyguard of Lionel Messi is no doubt challenging. But for Yassine Chueko, it seems like a walk in the park. His job is to guard the Argentine legend from overly passionate fans, who are ready to do anything and everything to meet their idol. Besides accompanying Messi in personal outings, Chueko also ensures his safety on the field. When the Inter Miami star is playing a match, Chueko stays on the sidelines, keeping his eyes on the surroundings. It has happened several times that fans have invaded the pitch to click a selfie with Messi. But most of them have ultimately surrendered to Chueko.

Recently, a Reddit user shared a video featuring some incidents where Yassine Chueko demonstrated his alertness to shield Lionel Messi from emphatic fans. He was hired on a personal recommendation by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham after Messi joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) club last summer.

Chueko has been asked to keep himself available on the field so that he can stop any pitch invader from getting close to Messi. He has certainly excelled in the task and this Reddit video is proof of his attentiveness.

The clip opens with Lionel Messi sitting at a stadium, with his bodyguard standing behind him. At that moment, Chueko was spotted giving a death stare to a fan, who supposedly waved at Messi from a nearby stand. In the other footage, Chueko was captured pushing away some enthusiastic supporters, who were trying to snap pictures with Messi on and off the field.

The Reddit post has garnered more than 1,70,000 upvotes since being dropped on the platform. Lauding Yassine Chueko for his spontaneity, a viewer commented, “I do appreciate how he only uses the absolute minimum force required. Like with the hands-on Messi’s shoulder, he very calmly and gently just removed them. Seems like a cool guy.”

Another user did some research on Lionel Messi’s bodyguard and found out that his salary is “about 3 million (dollars) a year.” “That guy is freaking good! I worked security on and off as a side gig for decades, and I have never seen anyone that good. His level of alertness, perception, speed, and ability to assess a situation and apply the minimum amount of force to get the job done without overapplying is impressive as hell,” noted a user.

According to a report by Sports Illustrated, Yassine Chueko was earlier a US soldier, who served as a Navy SEAL in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is recognised as a fan of boxing and martial arts and often shares videos of his training regimens on social media.
