Football is one of the most widely loved sports in the world. One can easily find football fans in all parts of the world, regardless of their profession. Now a video of one such football enthusiast is going viral. The video shows airport ground staff members lifting a traffic cone kept on the tarmac and discovering a ball hidden under it. He then skillfully dribbles that ball and loads it back inside the traffic cone. After doing his small but impressive football dribbling routine, he looks around to see if someone is watching him doing that. He quickly spots a person recording him from inside the aeroplane.
The man immediately breaks into a smile as he realises that his actions were recorded and appreciated by someone. This undated clip was shared on a popular football-centric Instagram account. The identity of the ground staff member and masterful football juggler is not known. This clip was simply captioned, “He was SO happy someone saw, that was smooth!”
One of the most popular comments on the video read, “It made the guy smile, the cameraman smiled, it made us all smile.” Another wrote, “The feeling you get when someone is watching and it turns out to be true lol, good skills though.” An Instagram user observed, “That smile was more precious than the move itself, impressive.” Someone joked, “It was Harry Kane’s ball that went into space and a plane picked it up and he got it off the plane.”
People also half jokingly and half sincerely urged football clubs to identify the guy in the video and sign him to their club. Making this appeal, an Instagram user mentioned, “Chelsea FC scout spotted him, next Chelsea signing.” Another commented, “Manchester United pls sign him.”
This video has over 59 lakh likes. It is unclear how and why the ball reached the airport tarmac, especially considering that aeroplane tarmacs are considered high-security areas. A few people pointed out that by playing with the ball while on duty the man might not be doing his duty responsibly. Some people also speculated that this video might cost the man his job. Making this point, an Instagram user stated, “He is getting fired for this.” Another commented, “Hope that wasn’t a 737 Max and he missed the crack in the fuselage while focusing on his football skills.”
