Swiggy is known for its creative and playful marketing campaigns, so how can it not ride the trendy train and send some quirky Valentine’s Day mobile notifications? The personalised message notification pop-up on the mobile phone engages users and ignites cravings. But it is safe to say that singles were irked by these notifications as if it were their ‘EX’ girlfriend or boyfriend’s message. An X user named Susmita faced something similar when she received a notification from Swiggy. Sadly, the woman didn’t have a Valentine’s on the day of love, and Swiggy’s notification regarding the same made it worse.
To advertise their ‘V-Day specials,’ the food delivery app sent a notification to Susmita that read, “Susmita, your Valentine only deserves the best.” Sharing a screenshot of the same, she expressed, “I don’t even have a Valentine, @swiggy. Why do you keep sending these to me?”

Responding to Susmita’s post, Swiggy tweaked, “We’ll be your Valentine if you want.” The conversation didn’t end here, the hither and thither continued, with the woman commenting, “Pyaar hai to bhejo cheese burst pizza (If you love me, send a cheese burst pizza).”

To everyone’s surprise, the communication exchange wasn’t just a simple, light-hearted banter. The food delivery app really made Susmita’s day by sending over a heart-shaped pizza, some roses, and a card. “You deserve all the love and pizza, crust us- Team Swiggy,” the card read.

Retweeting Sushmita’s joyful post, the food delivery app wished her a ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.’

Needless to say, Susmita’s post went crazy viral, triggering a flurry of reactions from social media users. Many took to the comment section to praise the food delivery app’s sweet gesture, while others tagged the competitive food delivery app Zomato, asking them to do something similar. Till now, the post has pulled in more than 156,000 views and over 1,700 likes on the micro-blogging site.
