Gurugram’s inadequate drainage system, which causes waterlogging even after minimal rainfall, has frequently been questioned. Recently, for three days in a row, Delhi and the National Capital Region have seen moderate to heavy rain, exacerbating the situation. According to several reports, parts of the city experienced flood-like conditions. A video that was uploaded on social media demonstrated the dire circumstances, showing several vehicles—among them a high-end BMW M340i valued at Rs 83 lakh—submerged in floods.
The user stated in his Instagram post that the city’s rainy weather had wrecked his luxury vehicles. In addition, he raised concerns with the Gurugram authorities, questioning why he was paying taxes for such subpar infrastructure and the officials’ silence. The user in his post wrote, “This ain’t Mumbai or Bangalore, welcome to the metro city of India, Gurugram/Gurgaon.”
The user claimed to have paid his taxes and bills, only to discover that his house, BMW, Mercedes and i-20 were gone.
“No authorities or officials have shown up to fix the situation yet and man I feel so broken rn. All I had was my car to have a little fun in my life. It’s all gone. No crane would show up to even enter this deep of water, I tried that,” he added.
