Are you also the one who thinks twice before placing an expensive order on online shopping websites and applications? Well, it is indeed a good habit to go through all the instructions about return and exchange policies before ordering any item on these portals. In recent times, there have been multiple cases where people have been delivered stones, e-waste and what not instead of the order they placed. Now, another man has allegedly become a victim of a similar scam as he received stones delivered to his doorstep instead of the mobile phone he ordered for himself.
The Flipkart customer from Ghaziabad ordered a smartphone worth Rs 22,000 from Flipkart on March 28. To his surprise, his package was delivered on the same day. Upon unboxing the package, the man was left in shock as he found stones placed nicely instead of the smartphone he had ordered. Just like any of us would do, the man also attempted to return the package and get his refund. However, the shopping app rejected his return request.
Abhishek Patni, a user on X, shared, “A Ghaziabad resident claims he ordered a mobile phone worth Rs 22,000 through Flipkart but instead received stones! The victim claims the courier refuses to take back the parcel. So much so for online shopping.” Patni, in his post, also attached the picture of the stone he received and provided the screenshot of the order showcasing that the man’s return request was rejected.

As Patni’s post gained traction on social media, Flipkart immediately responded to the same apologising for the inconvenience caused to the customer. It wrote, “We’d never want you to get anything but what you ordered and are extremely sorry about this instance. To assist you further, kindly provide us with your order details via private chat so that they remain confidential here. Awaiting your response.”
Further, the company cautioned customers to avoid responding to the handles impersonating them as it added, “Please do not respond to fake social media handles impersonating our brand to safeguard your interactions.”
