Actresses often find themselves in uncomfortable situations while taking selfies with fans. A recent incident involved Malaika Arora, who felt that a fan was too close for comfort. Reacting promptly, she firmly said, “Thora peechey jayiye,” leading the man to back off. Celebrities are frequently requested by eager fans for selfies, resulting in close proximity that can cross personal boundaries.

In a video that’s recently gone viral on social media, Malaika Arora is seen exiting the gym and approaching her car while dressed in typical gym attire — a sports bra, shorts, and a sporty cap. As she nears her vehicle, a middle-aged man approaches her for a selfie. Feeling uncomfortable with his proximity, Malaika politely but firmly asks him to step back with a “thoda peeche,” before posing for the selfie and quickly driving away. This incident brings to light a recurring issue where celebrities’ personal space is invaded by fans seeking selfies, echoing earlier concerns voiced by other actresses, such as Ahana Kumra and Taapsee Pannu about the need to respect boundaries.

Fans took to the comments section and praised her for drawing boundaries and asked other celebs to follow suit. “Uncle should keep some distance,” read one comment. Another read, “She feels uncomfortable.”

Malaika Arora recently opened up about reading nasty comments about herself on social media. The diva, who has also been making headlines because of her breakup with Arjun Kapoor, was recently talking to the magazine Harper’s Bazaar when she admitted that negative comments about her “mess up” her day.

“Sometimes when I find something nasty written about me, I’ll admit, it messes up my day, but I’m getting better at blocking out the noise. I work a lot on keeping myself the way I am—mentally strong and being able to reinvent myself—by practising yoga and meditation, doing my retreats, eating, and sleeping on time,” she said.
