A young boy’s honest and smart action has earned him much praise and recognition from Dubai Police. Muhammad Ayan Younis, an Indian boy based in Dubai, was with his father at a tourist place when he noticed a lost watch. Instead of ignoring it or taking it for himself, Muhammad Ayan Younis took the watch and brought it to the Dubai Police, so that it could be returned to its owner. The Dubai Police were able to trace the tourist who had previously reported a lost watch. After confirming the watch’s ownership, it was given back to the rightful owner.
According to a press note published on the Dubai Police website, the tourist “expressed his immense satisfaction with the high level of security and integrity in Dubai.” On Sunday, Muhammad Ayan Younis was given an award in recognition of his admirable action. The award was bestowed on the directions of Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, the Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Many officials of the Dubai Tourism Department such as Brigadier Khalfan Obeid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, along with his deputy, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abdul Rahman, and Captain Shahab Al Saadi, Head of the Tourist Happiness Section, were present at Muhammad Ayan Younis’s felicitation ceremony. Brigadier Al Jallaf said the “child’s behaviour reflects the high moral standards and security prevalent in the UAE”, especially when it comes to their viral tourism sector.
This is not the first time that a common person was awarded by the Dubai authorities for their high civic sense. Back in April, Zeeshan Ahmad Irshad Ahmad, who works as a delivery man for the food delivery company Talabat, was spotted fixing a traffic signal that was dangling by the side. His considered actions were captured by someone who was in a car behind him. Once this video began circulating, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took note of it. Zeeshan was invited to the RTA headquarters and given a certificate of appreciation.

While speaking to Khaleej Times, Zeeshan said that he was driving along Al Wasl Street when he noticed that one panel of the traffic light was detached and dangling very dangerously. Since it was a windy day, he thought that this broken traffic light piece could injure a pedestrian or another driver. He parked his bike and fixed it. He was unaware of being recorded.
