In the age of viral trends, every individual tries hacks or engages them in trending stuff making waves on the internet. Social media today is abuzz with viral clips and posts which instantly captivate the interest of users. From mimicking memes to following theories, we all like to try out what is trending. A while ago, the orange peel theory took over the internet, and people are using it to test their compatibility with respective partners. The concept revolves around people asking their partners to do a simple thing like peeling oranges that they can easily do by themselves. As per the trend, it is done to check if a person is willing to perform this simple chore, and if they do, it shows their commitment towards the relationship.
Now, in a viral clip, a woman decided to explain this theory to her mother. She first informs her mother about this viral trend. However, what followed is rib-tickling. Instagram user and comedian Aanchal Agrawal dropped this video featuring her mother. In the video, she asks her mum if she knows about the orange peel theory and then explains the trend. To which her mother, in a serious tone, replies, “You will be impressed if anyone peels oranges for you.” She then makes her point, and the whole scene is hilarious to watch.

The video has mustered more than 7.5 million views – and over 5,00,000 views, so far. As soon as the clip was shared on Instagram, users were quick to react. “She has a point! Raise your standards, girl!” posted an Instagram user. “Exactly! Santre chheelne me kya hai, lehsun chheelke do,” another quipped.
“Aunty ate and left no peels,” an account remarked. “Aunty literally said, ‘Doing the bare minimum ain’t putting in effort’,” asserted another. “Mom raised the bar,” wrote a user.
This viral TikTok test focuses on caring acts of service from your respective partner, as per the reports. According to a report published in Independent, the theory suggests that if your partner peels your orange for you without having to be asked, it is a sign that the partner truly loves and cares for you. Meanwhile, users who are making it trend opined, a partner who does little things to make your life easier is a keeper.
