Cops Raid Hotel After Man Walks Around With 'Large Knife'; Turns Out It Was A Harry Potter Wand
The local police quickly responded to the distress call and discovered that the weapon was a replica of a wand from the Harry Potter series.

A family in the UK found themselves in a distressing situation and reported a harrowing experience to the local police. The family claimed to have witnessed a man roaming with a long knife in a hotel. The local police quickly responded to the distress call, only to discover that the weapon was a replica of a wand from the Harry Potter series, carried by a Potterhead. Despite this revelation, Cris Caixinha, the person who alerted the police, remained adamant that the man indeed had a knife, which caused panic attacks among his children. Later, Leicestershire Police humorously shared the incident on Facebook and assured the public that there was no sign of Voldemort. While the specific hotel wasn’t disclosed by the officers, reports suggest that the incident occured at a Marriott property.

An officer from the Blaby police wrote, “I attended a large hotel in Enderby this morning with a number of firearms officers, following a report of a male inside near the lifts carrying ‘a large knife’. Following enquiries we quickly established that it was a Harry Potter fan with a wand. Thankfully no harm was caused to any resident & there was no sign of ‘Voldemort’."

The comments section became a goldmine of Harry Potter related puns. Enthusiastic fans and social media users showcased their wit, with magical wordplay that added a touch of humour to the situation.

A user asked, “Are you being Sirius?"

Another wrote, “Expecto Patrol-Man."

“See, I wish this would be the result of more of these reports, it is scary times with knives at the moment though, you can never be too careful. I’m glad everyone’s okay and people are getting smiles and laughs from it instead of fear," a comment read.

An individual jokes, “I need to be more careful when I go out with my wands in future."

Another shared, “So many missed opportunities for Harry Potter puns."

An account remarked, “Good practice for real time."

In an interview with Leicestershire Live, Cris Caixinha described his harrowing experience at a hotel where he and his family witnessed a man, approximately 40 years old. According to him, the man, dressed in shorts and a top, stood with legs apart and he was holding the knife like a sword. Concerned for their safety, Caixinha and his family ran towards their room, contacted the hotel reception and who later called the police. Despite the initial fear, the authorities later assured Caixinha that it was a misunderstanding and claimed it was someone with a wand. However, the man insisted that what they saw was not a wand but a long orange knife.
