Twitter tests new Ads button that lets you better manage ad campaigns via mobile
While the feature is more suited for those who are currently running Twitter ad campaigns, it serves no purpose for the regular users and doesn’t even allow them to get started building their first campaign from the app itself.

New Delhi: Microblogging site Twitter is apparently experimenting with a new feature that lets advertisers better manage their campaigns from the site’s mobile version.

The Twitter Ads button, currently in beta, is appearing on users’ profile pages on iOS and Android versions of Twitter. It is located next to the Edit profile button, the account switcher and the Settings icon.

A report on TechCrunch notes that the new feature has received mixed reactions from the users, some of whom have called it a ‘desperate’ attempt that spoils the user experience and an ‘ugly’ addition.

While the feature is more suited for those who are currently running Twitter ad campaigns, it serves no purpose for the regular users and doesn’t even allow them to get started building their first campaign from the app itself.

Twitter might have borrowed the element from Facebook, which rolled out its Facebook Ads Manager App that allowed users to also kick start their own campaigns right through the app, but it has a long way to go before it reaches that potential.

Although the site hasn’t officially announced the new button, its significant part in the user interface is likely to be its new attempt at increasing the revenue. Twitter had earlier tried making Twitter Ads a major part of the app’s user experience.
