Samsung's Affordable Galaxy Foldable Phone Could Miss Out On These Features: What We Know
Samsung has 5-gen foldable devices in the market and soon the company could bring an affordable variant as well. Here are the details.

Samsung seems to have gone ahead with its plans to make an affordable version of its Galaxy Fold model but launching a foldable at a lower price could see major cost cuts. A news report this week claims the company could drop S Pen support for the affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6 model.

The premium fold does come with stylus or S Pen support which makes Samsung’s foldable a lot more functional compared to other brands in the segment. But the brand could have more changes to this rumoured device which is likely to include a lower-powered chipset, less storage onboard and even the cameras will be offered with different sensors.

These will be major changes, if reports are to be believed but will allow Samsung to offer a compelling foldable product that is sure to catch everyone’s eyes. The affordable Galaxy Fold model is also reportedly going to be part of the Galaxy A series as per another report but we’ll prefer to wait for more updates to really consider that as a strong possibility. The rumoured affordable model will be lining up alongside the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 6 series when it launches later in the year.

Samsung had a big first-mover advantage with foldables and having 5-gen models should count for something. But now things have changed as more brands have entered the segment and have much better offerings in the market. Samsung can take advantage of its initial hurrah by going lower in the price band and bringing more people into the foldable ecosystem.

Not having the S Pen could actually work in the company’s favour as people would prefer to see the use of a foldable rather than use the stylus. However, the main reason behind foldable costing so much is the screen and the company has to make sure that its display quality is not compromised just because it wants to see a cheaper foldable.
