'Guitar Hero Live' to 'Tales from the Borderlands': 5 upcoming video games with their release dates
'Guitar Hero Live' merges music television, air guitar and karaoke.

"Guitar Hero Live" merges music television, air guitar and karaoke; two well-received five-episode adventures conclude the same week in "Life is Strange" and "Tales from the Borderlands;" "Tales of Zestiria" promises more lusciously rendered adventuring; and "Just Dance 2016" brings another round of old and new dancefloor hits.

1. Guitar Hero Live (PS4 XBO WiiU 360 PS3)

From October 20

A new direction beckons for the Guitar Hero franchise, which can now double as an enhanced music video player should players so choose. Look out from center stage at bandmates and a pre-recorded live audience as both react to your guitar wielding skills (or lack thereof), or use GHTV to have the Guitar Hero button guide overlay actual music videos instead. A clever music discovery system for fans and record labels alike.

2. Life is Strange: Episode 5 – Polarized (PS4 XBO WinPC 360 PS3)

October 20

Closing out the unexpected success that is this teenage mystery thriller -- a real emotional rollercoaster ride, if the game's fans on social media are to be believed -- timeskipping heroine Max Caulfield prepares to discover what's really going on in Arcadia Bay.

3. Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 5 - The Vault of the Traveler (PS4 XBO WinPC Mac 360 PS3 Android iOS)

From October 20

Unlikely traveling companions Rhys and Fiona finally uncover the location of the Vault as "Borderlands 2" returnee, Rhys's boss Handsome Jack, looms large, and the Telltale Games team sets up an opportunity to tie up the top-rated series' loose ends in one fell swoop.

4.Tales of Zestiria (PS4 WinPC PS3)

From October 20 (EU regions, Oct 16)

Set off on a legendary journey to save the world in what will be the fifth main game in a treasured "Tales of.." role-playing adventure series. Well received upon its January 2015 release in Japan, and Steam's PC version comes with 2016's "Tales of Symphonia" (first released on GameCube in 2003) as a pre-order bonus after a collective goal was met.

5.Just Dance 2016 (PS4 XBO WiiU 360 PS3 Wii)

From October 20

Accompanying a 40-plus tracklist that goes from Martin Garrix's "Animals" to Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass," new features include the ability to record and send dance challenges as well as a lip sync mode that cribs from hit app Dubsmash. Smartphones are quite literally elevated as an optional replacement for motion controllers and tracking cameras via a "Just Dance 2016" app for Android, iOS and W10 phones on Wii U, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
