New Delhi: Alcatel announced its OneTouch Idol 3 smartphone at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, which has a symmetrical design for complete reversibility.
This unique feature of being 100 per cent reversible means that users can grab their phone upside down and the phone's interface will automatically adjust and correct itself.
The smartphone's Technicolor Color Enhance technology in its HD screen offers comfortable viewing from all angles even in bright sunlight. The smartphone boasts of JBL audio with two front-facing speakers.
The Idol 3 is based on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Its 4.7-inch model sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, while its larger model features a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-fracing camera.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is available in two screen sizes: 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. While the 4.7-inch model has a 1.2GHz snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU and HD screen; the 5.5-inch variant has a 64-bit, 1.5GHz snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU and a full HD screen. Both the smartphones run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating.
The Idol 3 smartphone is available in three colours; gold, silver, and black.
The larger Idol 3 includes a 2,910mAh battery, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory for the single-SIM version and 32GB for the dual-SIM model. The smaller version sports a 2,000mAh battery and 8GB of internal memory for the single-SIM version and 16GB for the dual-SIM model. Both the version of the 4.7-inch model have 1GB RAM.
The smartphones, which offer 4G LTE connectivity, will sell globally in the April and May timeframe. Alcatel is yet to announce the price of these devices.
