New Delhi: MIT's Personal Robots Group has developed a tiny wearable that can open or close zips on its own. Under its Sartorial Robotics project, the robot, dubbed Zipperbot, has been developed to explore autonomous control of sartorial gesture and performed as a wearable robot. The tiny robot, once charged, can open and close zips up around contours as well. Although a recent development, Zipperbot could prove useful for those with disabilities or help zip spacesuits which are a little cumbersome.
