Yogi Adityanath Government Aims To Boost Eco Tourism, Generate Employment Opportunities in UP
All 26 bird sanctuaries and more than 300 large wetlands of the state have also been identified for eco-tourism

The Yogi government is all set to develop eco-tourism on the basis of One District One Destination in the state. Biodiversity sites along with wildlife sanctuaries will be developed with basic facilities at these sites. The government has taken this step in an attempt to boost eco-tourism and also to generate new employment opportunities at the same time.

Any district which will have bio-products will be identified as One District One Bio Product. For example, plywood in Sitapur, products of veneers in Bahraich and Balrampur, bamboo objects made in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra in Vindhya region, besides rock paintings (artifacts on rocks) and Mini Zoo in Sarnath and Bareilly in Varanasi have been identified so far. Apart from this, on the basis of conservation of biodiversity, the wetland, forests, and more than 300 villages near it have also been identified. So that only the houses of the villagers in the villages can be developed as guest rooms.

Experts say that a joint team of the Tourism Department, Forest Department, and Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation is continuously working to develop eco-tourism in the state. This team has recommended to the government to develop basic facilities linked to eco-tourism by marking the sites of different areas of the state as eco-tourism spots in the state.

The major destinations across the region identified for eco-tourism will include Kashi Wildlife Vihar in Chandauli, Vakheera Wildlife Vihar in Sant Kabir Nagar, Amangarh Tiger Reserve in Bijnor, Kaimur Fossils in Sonbhadra, Salkhan Dinosaur Park in Sonbhadra, Deogarh Wildlife Vihar in Lalitpur, Katarniaghat Wildlife Vihar in Bahraich, Dudhwa National Park in Lakhimpur Kheri, Kishanpur Wildlife Vihar in Lakhimpur Kheri and Kukrail Rehabilitation Center in state capital Lucknow.

Apart from this, all the 26 bird sanctuaries and more than 300 large wetlands of the state have also been identified for eco-tourism. To date, 1,35,000 Wetlands are notified in the state.
