Kolkata: The supporters of the Trinamool Congress and Communist Party of India - Marxist clashed on Tuesday in the Bhangar area of South 24 Parganas district when the Left supporters were headed for the Kolkata rally.
The CPM alleged that its supporters were attacked with bombs and firearms and their vehicles were ransacked by TMC workers. It also alleged that at least six of its supporters were injured and were moved to hospitals in Kolkata. Two have reportedly sustained bullet injuries.
The TMC, on the other hande, alleged that the Left supporters attacked their rally while passing that area. Thousands of Left supporters are headed for the South 24 Parganas district headquarters in Alipore for their protest demonstration.
