The Finance Minister also listed steps being taken by the Union government to improve the quality of education.
Jaipur: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said the quality of education was imperative for country's overall growth. Quality of education was important not only for the overall development of youths but also in the interest of the nation, he said.
Mukherjee was speaking at the 28th convocation of Banasthali Vidhyapith in Rajasthan's Tonk district. He said in order to improve quality of education, universities should review their courses and there should be discussions on the issue.
The minister listed steps being taken by the Union government to improve the quality of education.
These included setting up of Central universities and technical education institutes in different states.
