Pargat Singh resigned from the post of Director, Sports to contest the elections from Jalandhar Cantt constituency.
New Delhi: Former India hockey captain Pargat Singh has joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ahead of Punjab elections this month.
He will contest from the Jalandhar Cantonment constituency.
Pargat will formally join the Akali Dal on Monday. He has resigned from the post of Director, Sports to contest the elections.
SAD zeroed in on Pargat after Punjab Markfed chairman and Kapurthala SAD unit president Jarnail Singh Wahid refused to contest from Jalandhar Cantonment.
