New Delhi: After 10 days of disruption since the Monsoon Session started, order seems to have been restored in Parliament. The logjam in Parliament finally ended on Thursday with the Opposition MPs not disrupting the proceedings in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

The logjam ended after a series of meetings held on Wednesday between the Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders. There were cracks within the Opposition itself when senior Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP Brinda Karat disapproved of repeated adjournments in Parliament.

Sources say that the Government was unanimous in pushing through bills, despite disruption.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will intervene on the Commonwealth Games issue, which has led to repeated adjournments of both the houses, issue later on Thursday. Sources says Singh's statement on Commonwealth Games is ready and he will intervene when required.

The Opposition has been going all guns blazing on the Commonwealth Games irregularities. While Sports Minister Ajay Maken is expected to clarify on Suresh Kalmadi's appointment as the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman while Home Minister P Chidambaram will make a statement on the lathicharge on BJP youth workers in New Delhi on Tuesday.
