A 10-year-old girl from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, named Iniya has made it into the headlines and has penned 12 stories based on moral values. As per the Local 18 Tamil Nadu, she has curated the premise of these stories in English and published them in a book. Not only the stories, Iniya has also drawn attractive illustrations apt to the content of the storylines. The 10-year-old girl has received applause for her commendable work in writing stories and painting as well from people. Iniya is currently studying in class 5. The Thanjavur natives have been left amazed by Iniya’s command of these skills. They appreciate her and her parents.
Iniya has been passionate about writing stories and drawing illustrations for them since childhood. Not only in these fields, but the Thanjavur girl has also demonstrated her talent in many other areas. She has a sharp memory power and once recited the names of 60 Tamil literary texts in 40 seconds. With this act, she set a world record in Kalams World Records, starting with the main aim of upbringing talents from every corner.
Iniya said, “I have been interested in reading stories since I was in the third grade. My parents used to recommend me good story books and I read a lot of moral stories. It was then I told my parents that I was interested in writing stories on my own during the summer vacation after finishing fourth grade. Both my mom and dad encouraged me. Moreover, my “mother” motivated me to write many stories and compile them into a book.” According to Iniya, she has recorded stories with pictures for parents to listen to, be happy and stay united with friends.
Iniya recalls speaking on the school’s stage about the ill effects of using cell phones while studying UKG. The 10-year-old girl added that she doesn’t use mobile phones extensively letting her devote time to story writing. Iniya’s parents said their daughter would work on the stories only during summer vacation. According to them, every aspect of writing, i.e.- font size, colour scheme etc., was Iniya’s idea.
