New Delhi: With the Lok Sabha elections coming close, ticket distribution by various political parties is creating buzz. The Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday denied a Lok Sabha ticket to Karunanidhi's estranged elder son Alagiri. But it has decided to field former telecom minister A Raja, who is accused in the 2G case, in the Lok Sabha elections. Alagiri has said that he will decide his next course of action soon.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is under fire after its Uttar Pradesh unit recommended that four accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots case be given Lok Sabha tickets. However, the final decision rests with the party's central election committee. Ironically, the move came on a day when Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi blamed the Third Front for being silent on the riots.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has decided not to field any candidates against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and Sonia Gandhi in Raebareli. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav termed it is a gesture of goodwill as Congress did not field a candidate against his wife Dimple Yadav in Kannauj.

The Aam Aadmi Party will field Gulail founder Ashish Khaitan in New Delhi. Sources have said CNN-IBN that Shazia Ilmi is likely to contest against Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

In Kerala, THE Muslim League has decided to field Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed from Malappuram ending speculation he may not contest.
