Kolkata: Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Monday said he had received Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's letter which asked the state government to disarm CPI-M cadres in the state and will reply to it.
"I have received the letter. I will give a reply," he told reporters at the state secretariat when asked about Chidambaram's letter.
Chidambaram had sent the letter on December 24 in which he criticised the state's law and order and called for disarming and demobilisation of CPI-M armed cadres in Jangalmahal.
Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee had said state should reply to the letter on Sunday.
