C Vidyasagar Rao sworn-in as Maharashtra governor
Rao took over from Gujarat Governor OP Kohli, who was given additional charge of Maharashtra after K. Sankaranarayanan resigned from the post Sunday.

Mumbai: C Vidyasagar Rao was on Saturday sworn in as governor of Maharashtra at a function in Raj Bhavan.

Bombay High Court Chief Justice Mohit Shah administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rao, a senior BJP leader from Telangana.

Rao took over from Gujarat Governor OP Kohli, who was given additional charge of Maharashtra after K Sankaranarayanan resigned from the post Sunday.

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, his cabinet colleagues and other prominent dignitaries attended the function.
