Chennai: 2G scam-tainted former Telecom Minister A Raja on Wednesday declared assets to the tune of Rs 3.61 crore.
Raja, seeking re-election to Lok Sabha from Nilgiris (SC) constituency, in his affidavit presented while filing nominations declared movable assets of Rs 1.45 crore in his name, Rs 93.93 lakh held by his wife MA Parameswari, Rs 18.15 lakh held by his minor daughter and Rs 41.03 lakh property in the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).
He declared immovable assets valued at Rs 32.85 lakh in his name. His wife owned Rs 14.12 lakh immovables and Raja's share in HUF is Rs 14.53 lakh.
Raja declared that he has liabilities to the extent of Rs 35.51 lakh and his wife Rs 3.92 lakh. The liability under HUF is Rs 20,803.
He stated that he has deposits of Rs 64.79 lakh in various banks and there is Rs 6.51 lakh in his wife's name.
The 50-year-old DMK leader has Rs 7,98,275 cash on hand and his wife Parameswari has Rs 34,786.
Raja has listed 108 sovereigns of gold worth Rs 26.59 lakh and his wife 175 sovereigns worth Rs 43.08 lakh.
Raja has declared that a criminal case filed against him in connection with the 2G scam is pending before a special court in Delhi.
