Zimbabwe will square off against Ireland in the 2nd T20I game of their bilateral series this weekend. The hosts proved to be the better team in the opening match of the series as they stole a narrow victory over Ireland in a nail-biting thriller. Having won the toss they decided to bowl first.
Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza had a phenomenal bowling half that saw him scalp three wickets while giving away just 28 runs in four overs. In the next innings, he stepped up again to deliver a fantastic knock of 65 runs in just 42 balls. His heroics were enough to seal the win for his side. They will now be looking to bag the series early as they hope to repeat the same in their upcoming match.
The two teams will clash at the Harare Sports Club on December 9. Ireland had a weak batting half in their opening game against the hosts. Andrew Balbirnie scored the highest with 32 runs in 25 balls. This led to the visitors managing a mere total of just 147 runs. In the second innings, all the bowlers stepped up for Ireland as Mark Adair, Joshua Little, Barry McCarthy and Craig Young took two wickets each. Despite this wonderful effort, they lost the game narrowly by a single wicket.
