'No Samosa With Chai': JDU MP's Sly Dig At Congress, Says No Discussion on Serious Issue At INDIA Meet

Janata Dal-United (JDU) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu on Wednesday took a dig at the Congress saying the party did not even arrange for samosas during the fourth INDI alliance meeting held on Tuesday.

“In the meeting yesterday, big leaders of several parties had come to share in the alliance. But no discussion on the same could be done. The meeting primarily revolved around tea and biscuits, given the Congress party’s recent announcement about its financial constraints and its appeal for donations. So, yesterday’s meeting finished on just tea and biscuits without samosa and without any discussion on any serious issue,” Pintu was quoted by ANI as saying.

The JDU MP stressed that said that the fourth meeting of the INDI bloc remained inconclusive.

Several Opposition leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Sonia Gandhi, Nitish Kumar and MK Stalin, attended the fourth INDIA Alliance meeting that was held in New Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel.

Sunil Kumar Pintu also reacted to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s proposal of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the prime ministerial candidate for the bloc, and termed it as her “personal opinion”.

He further said that there is “a strong desire among Bihar’s party workers and residents for Nitish Kumar to assume the prime ministerial role”.

Speaking on the JDU MP’s ‘absence of samosa’ remark, BJP leader Amit Malviya said until Nitish Kumar is declared the Prime Ministerial candidate of the alliance, similar complaints will continue.

“Nitish Kumar’s MPs are disappointed due to the absence of samosa in the INDI alliance meeting. Said, no serious issue was discussed. Until Nitish Kumar is declared the Prime Ministerial candidate of the alliance, similar complaints will continue,” Malviya was quoted by India Today as saying.

Nitish Kumar, however, has, on several occasions, denied having any prime ministerial ambitions.
