Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22 next year, sources told CNN-News18.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust members met PM Modi in the national capital and invited him to the inauguration (Pran Patishtha Event) of the temple. The Prime Minister personally accepted the invitation to inaugurate Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi said it was his good fortune that he will witness the historic occasion. The PM also shared the photo of his meeting with trust members.

The trust said PM Modi will perform Prana Pratishtha of Shri Vigraha of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir on January 22, 2024.

Earlier, Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairperson Nripendra Mishra had said the construction of the ground floor of the three-storey temple in Ayodhya will be completed by December this year.

On August 5, 2020, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

General Secretary of Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust Champat Rai confirmed that Lord Ram’s idol in the Garbhagriha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will installed on January 22, 2024.

Who Will Attend Ram Temple’s Inauguration Event?

The trust said 4,000 saints and 2,500 eminent citizens will be present at the historic moment of Prana Pratishta of Shri Vigraha of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024.

RSS chief Dr Mohanji Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the Prana Pratishtha.

The Supreme Court in a 2019 verdict had paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple by a trust at the disputed site in Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot an alternative five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a new mosque at a “prominent” place in the holy town of Uttar Pradesh.

The court had ruled that the 2.77 acres of the disputed land where the demolished 16th century-era Babri Masjid once stood will remain with a Central government receiver and be handed over to the trust within three months of the ruling for the construction of the temple.

The temple trust has decided to start the process of the consecration of Ram Lalla after Makar Sankranti on January 14, and observe a 10-day ritual of Ram Lalla’s ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration).
