BJP Retains Madhya Pradesh: Five of Seven MPs Winning; Faggan Singh Lost from Niwas
Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, was trailing and lost with a margin of 9,723 votes from Niwas Assembly, the seat bagged by Congress in 2018 as well

The counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh is underway with the majority of Members of Parliament fielded by the BJP leading in the early trend. However, Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste lost the polls with 9,723 votes.

The data updated around 5 pm on the Election Commission of India website shows that out of the seven BJP MPs in the fray in the state, five are leading in their respective seats.

BJP MP and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, contesting from Dimani, is leading with over 19,335 votes margin post the competition of 17th round of counting out of 19. He secured 70,226 votes as of now. BSP’s Balveer Singh Dandotia is at the second position with 50,891 votes while Congress leader Ravindra Singh Tomar Bhidosa is at the third position with 21,428 votes. In 2018, Congress won from Dimani. In the 2020 bye-polls, Bhidosa bagged the seat.

Another MP and Union minister Prahlad Singh Patel is fighting the elections from Narsinghpur, a seat won by the BJP in 2018. After the 16th round of counting, Patel was leading with over 28,082 votes as he secured 94,476 votes. Lakhan Singh Patel from Congress is at the second position with 66,394 votes.

Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste lost from Niwas Assembly, the seat bagged by the Congress in 2018. Chainsingh Warkade from Congress won with a margin of 9,723 votes as he secured 99,644 votes while Kulaste secured 89,921 votes.

After the eighth round of counting in Sidhi, BJP’s Riti Pathak was leading with a margin of 13,696 votes. She secured around 38,00 votes against Gyan Singh from Congress who bagged around 24,410 votes. The seat was bagged by the BJP in 2013 as well as 2018.

BJP’s Ganesh Singh, fighting in Satna, is also trailing with nearly 3,550 votes against Congress leader Dabbu Siddharth Sukhlal Kushwaha, who bagged the seat in 2018. While Kushwaha secured about 45,298 votes, Singh bagged 41,748 votes after 13 rounds of counting.

BJP MP Rakesh Singh, contesting from Jabalpur West, is leading with a margin of 30,314 votes as he bagged 96,268 votes. Tarun Bhanot, who won the polls in 2013 and 2018 from the seat, is at the second position as he secured 66,134 votes.

BJP’s Uday Pratap Singh, contesting from Gadarwara, is leading with about 56,800 votes against sitting Congress MLA Sunita Patel who managed to get only 54,324 votes. The BJP MP has secured 1,11,113 votes.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP National General Secretary, was also fighting the polls from Indore-1. He is leading with about 46,000 votes as he secured 1.27 lakh votes as of 5 pm. Congress party candidate Sanjay Shukla is at the second position from the seat with 81,391 votes.

As of 5 pm, BJP is leading on 124 seats and has won another 40. Congress has won 10 seats and is leading on 55.
