PENTAGON Rubbishes Disbandment Rumours After 5 Members Leave Agency
On October 9, Cube Entertainment released a statement announcing that the company’s contract with PENTAGON had expired and after a thorough discussion, both parties have agreed not to renew the contract.

South Korean multi-national boy band PENTAGON has been making the headlines recently. Five members of the group including Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok have decided not to renew their contract with their management agency— Cube Entertainment. The boys have been associated with the agency since 2016. But on Monday, October 9, Cube Entertainment released a statement announcing that the company’s contract with PENTAGON had expired and after a thorough discussion, both parties have agreed not to renew the contract, quoted Soompi. The exit of the PENTAGON members who have been working under their management company for 7 years has sparked disbandment rumours.

Without citing any reason for the separation, Cube Entertainment in its long statement wrote, “Hello. This is Cube Entertainment. First, we’d like to sincerely thank UNIVERSE (PENTAGON’s fandom) for cherishing and sending love and support to PENTAGON. As the exclusive contracts of PENTAGON members approach their expiration date, we have had sincere conversations with the members over an extended period of time. After careful deliberation, it has been decided that our exclusive contracts with Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok will come to an end.”

“We’d like to express our deep gratitude to Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok who have been with us on this long journey of 7 years, and we wish them nothing but happiness in their future endeavors. We kindly ask for your warm encouragement and support for PENTAGON’s Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok as they embark on a new chapter. Thank you,” the statement added.

Shortly after the announcement, when disbandment rumours started doing the rounds, Yeo One and Kino came forward to clear the air. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Yeo One wrote, “I felt the need for a fresh challenge in order to present a better version of myself to UNIVERSE, my fellow members, and those who support us. Even though I’m parting ways with Cube Entertainment, I will always stand alongside UNIVERSE as a member of PENTAGON in the future too, just as I am today. As a member of PENTAGON, I will become Yeo Chang Gu, Yeo One who always works hard and grows to make PENTAGON shine.”

Taking to his Instagram stories, Kino dropped some pictures with PENTAGON members are wrote, “PENTAGON never dies. What is ‘disbandment’? Haha. Is it something you eat?”

PENTAGON was formerly a nine-member group including Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok. E’Dawan — the tenth member left the group in 2018.
