A delegation of Telugu film producers comprising Allu Aravind, C Aswini Dutt, Daggubati Suresh, Dil Raju, AM Ratnam, S Radhakrishna, Bhogavalli Prasad, DVV Danayya, Supriya, NV Prasad, Bunny Vasu, Naveen Yerneni, TG Viswa Prasad, Naga Vamsi and Y Ravi Sankar met Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at his camp office on Monday, June 25.
In the brief interaction with the media after the meeting, Allu Aravind said it was a goodwill visit meant to secure a suitable date to congratulate Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan on their outstanding victory in the general elections by the film industry. “The producers’ council and other associations also wished to discuss some problems faced by the film industry,” Aravind said.
Some problems were brought to Pawan Kalyan’s attention during the meeting, and a formal submission would be presented to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister at a later date, Aravind said.
Dismissing the issue of a proposed increase in movie ticket prices as an insignificant matter, Aravind said the industry was keen on expanding its presence in Andhra Pradesh, and added that Pawan Kalyan had assured them he would speak with CM Naidu about some of the issues raised by producers. The meeting was also attended by Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh.
Meanwhile, on Saturday Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held a Jana Darbar at his party office and took petitions from the people, who came seeking his aid for addressing their problems.
When he returned from the Assembly from his party office, he found a gathering of people waiting for him, holding representations. He stepped out of the vehicle and interacted with them to learn about their difficulties.
This is consistent with his promise to meet anyone who comes seeking assistance, whether he is in administration or opposition. He heard everyone who arrived with their representations at the location designated for the party’s Jana Vani programme.
