Shah Rukh Khan Did Not Abuse; Suhana 'Catcalled' at Wankhede Stadium in 2012: KKR Staff's Big Claim
Shah Rukh Khan was banned for five years from entering MCA premises, including the Wankhede Stadium, on May 18, 2012 after he was involved in an altercation with security staff.

Friday’s IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) prompted discussion around the infamous fight involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The conversation about SRK’s outburst particularly resurfaced after the former support staff of KKR posted about the match on May 2, writing, “The last time KKR beat MI at the Wankhede, I was still a part of that dugout. It’s been a while, but today might just be the day!”

Replying to which, a user wrote in a now-deleted post, “No, Joy! KKR has been cursed from the day SRK abused the Wankhede security guard.” Joy then clarified about the incident, claiming that Shah Rukh lost his cool after his daughter was “catcalled”. Suhana was with Shah Rukh at the time of the incident.

“KKR won two championships after that incident. And he did not abuse, I was there. And the next time, stay calm when someone cat calls your young daughter,” Joy wrote.

Shah Rukh was banned for five years from entering MCA premises, including the Wankhede Stadium, by the Association’s managing committee, headed by the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, on May 18, 2012 after he was involved in a skirmish with security staff and officials of the cricket body following a match between his team KKR and MI.

The association alleged that SRK tried to force his way on to the grounds after the match, and abused and manhandled guards after he was stopped.

Meanwhile, in an old interview on Aap Ki Adalat, Shah Rukh had said that he was triggered by a word used by the security staff that was religious in nature. “Yes I was very angry and upset. My kids were there and I thought someone… Maybe they had a rule, that hatao yaha se. I told him, these are our kids and we are taking them. I just said this. There was a person there who said a word which I, as a Delhi person, felt like it was an abusive word. Even though the same word in Marathi is also rude. Thoda sa religious, galat tha woh (It was religious, it was wrong). I then lost my cool, main pagal hogaya and I went to hit him,” the superstar had recalled.
