Rajkummar Rao To Essay THIS Role In Bhakshak Director Pulkit’s Next Untitled Film; Deets Inside

Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for his next release Stree 2 co starring Shraddha Kapoor. The film is all set to release on August 15. Well, amid this Pinkvilla has reported that Rajkummar Rao will be playing a gangster role in his next film which will be directed by Bhakshak director Pulkit. The shooting will start in September this year. An official announcement is underway.

Pinkvilla quoted sources saying, “It’s an out-and-out commercial entertainer featuring Rajkummar Rao as a gangster. The makers plan to shoot the film extensively in Uttar Pradesh followed by some chunk in Mumbai, as the entire story and character is rooted in UP. Rajkummar is excited to explore this character and will be doing some readings and workshops with the team in the first week of September.”

“The makers were on the lookout for a fresh casting and the pairing of Rajkummar and Manushi spells something new. The duo will share an interesting dynamic in the film,” Pinkvilla earlier mentioned.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, which grossed nearly Rs 200 crore worldwide. Since the success of the first film, Maddock Films has expanded the universe with several interconnected movies, the latest being the surprise hit Munjya, which earned Rs 130 crore globally.

The trailer for Stree 2 opens with a chilling voiceover introducing a new supernatural threat: ‘Sarkate’, a headless horseman reminiscent of the legendary Sleepy Hollow figure. To combat this eerie new foe, the beloved trio from the first film—Vicky, Jana, and Bittu—reunite and seek the help of Shraddha Kapoor’s enigmatic character. Kapoor makes a dramatic entrance with acrobatic flair, ready to assist the friends and the sagacious Rudra in their battle against Sarkate.

Stree 2 marks the first direct sequel in the series and brings back the original cast, including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, with Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Each actor has seen their star rise since the first film’s release. Rajkummar Rao has been busy with notable films such as Mr & Mrs Mahi and Srikanth this year.
