Rajkummar Rao said that it would be tough for him to ‘slap’ a female actor on screen. He said that unless it was absolutely required for his character, he would not be able to do it. He added that he would get into a detailed debate about the scene with his director.
In a recent chat with the Hindustan Times, Rajkummar Rao was asked about one thing he would never do on screen. He said, “Actually, it would be very hard for me to slap a girl in a scene. I wouldn’t be able to do it.” When asked if he would have done Kabir Singh, the actor replied, “Yeah, maybe I would have had a lot of discussions with my director about this scene. Unless it’s like something which you cannot, cannot live without, you know your character just cannot live without, it’s like breathing that has to be there… I would get into a big debate with my director.”
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for his next release Stree 2 which is releasing on August 15. He recently shared a new poster in which he is seen making a heart with his hands. He wrote, “Je tailor hai, je aashiq hai…arey je toh Chanderi ke राजकुमार hai! 2 din mein aa rahe hain, inhe dekhne aaiyega zaroor.” As soon as the photo was shared, fans called it a blockbuster. One of the fans wrote, “Blockbuster movie hai mere bhai Stree 2”.
The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in lead roles. Stree was released in 2018. It opened to wide critical acclaim and emerged as a commercial success at the box office. The music of the film also drew a lot of attention, with Milegi Milegi and Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe becoming raging chartbusters. The audience also fondly remembers Kamariya featuring a scintillating Nora Fatehi, who grabbed a lot of eyeballs for her moves on the track.
In the sequel, Chanderi is once again haunted, but this time not by Stree. This time the residents of Chanderi, including Rajkummar, Abhishek, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, are on a mission to fight against a new monster. Pankaj Tripathi introduces the new threat, ‘Sarkata’ (headless monster). To protect them from this terror comes Shraddha Kapoor. The people pray to Stree this time, “O stree raksha karna”, instead of telling her, “O stree kal aana”.
