After bagging the Miss World Pageant in 2000, she made her acting debut with Tamil film Thamizhan in 2002. Now, the Dostana actress has shared a picture on her Instagram story, celebrating 22 years of the flick.

Earlier, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Priyanka talked about her debut and the struggles she faced while filming Thamizhan. She said, “I remember Thamizhan, which was really difficult for me as I did not know Tamil as a language. I was learning it phonetically, memorising it, understanding the meaning behind it, and then saying my lines.”
Despite the struggles, the actress was all praise for Thalapathy Vijay. Priyanka revealed that she loved watching the South superstar on the set and was among the first few people who had an influence on her life. She also admired his humility and appreciated his hard work.
After Thamizham, Priyanka Chopra made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Anil Sharma’s The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, opposite Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
