Parineeti Chopra, who will be playing the role of Saina Nehwal in the badminton ace’s biopic has shared a photo where she is looking like a mirror image of the sportswoman. Parineeti expressed her excitement at playing the role in her Instaram caption. She wrote, “Thrilled to be able to do THIS as an actor once in my life. ???????? #SainaXParineeti #Grateful.”
She shared the comparison a day after Saina’s 31st birthday. “My champion, and my muse! Trying to become you for the last 2 years was my biggest honour … Happy bdayyy SAINA! Hope we make you proud with your story,” she tweeted.

A few days back, Parineeti posted a behind-the-scenes video about how she trained for the ace shuttler’s biopic. The Bollywood actress took part in a series of gruelling sessions to get into the character.
How I became #SAINA ????• Shot in London, Mumbai and Thane. Thank you Eshan, Vad sir and the entire badminton community for teaching me. I dedicate this film to you ????https://t.co/kGsPNXNHyB@NSaina #AmoleGupte #ManavKaul @eshannaqvi #BhushanKumar— Parineeti Chopra (@ParineetiChopra) March 16, 2021
Parineeti was last seen in her recently-released OTT film The Girl On The Train. She said the film gave her “second life” as an artiste. “I had become a little complacent and carefree and I used to do things the same way. So it (being part of the film) was so amazing, I really feel like this was my second life, almost. I really don’t want to make dramatic statements, but I do feel new again and I feel like a new version of me,” she said.
Parineeti will next be seen in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, which releases March 19.
