Ishq Vishk Rebound Producer Ramesh Taurani Says He Didn't Know Pashmina Was Rajesh Roshan’s Daughter

The highly awaited sequel to the famous 2003 film Ishq Vishk, titled Ishq Vishk Rebound, is slated to be released this month. The upcoming movie, starring Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan, Naila Grrewal, and Pashmina Roshan, has already grabbed viewers’ interest. This romantic comedy film is expected to tackle the intricacies of love and relationships from a Gen Z perspective. While the teaser and songs have become a rage, the makers were not spared the nepotism debate for casting Hrithik Roshan’s sister and Rajesh Roshan’s daughter, Pashmina.

In a conversation with Forbes, Ramesh Taurani, the producer for Ishq Vishk Rebound, claimed that Pashmina Roshan’s casting was done according to due process. He stated that casting for Pashmina’s role was difficult, and they auditioned nearly 12 actors before choosing the star kid. He added, “An interesting thing was that when we auditioned Pashmina, we had no clue she is the daughter of (Bollywood musician and producer) Rajesh Roshan. She told us about it only after we finalized her and signed her for the film. She did a really good audition.” He added that during the shoot, neither Rajesh Roshan nor Hrithik, who share a good relationship with Ramesh Taurani, called in and asked for any favours for Pashmina.

The producer also stated that the debate over nepotism is useless. He claimed that the makers did not have any children of well-known celebrities, and those star kids who aren’t skilled enough, haven’t made it big in the industry.

Meanwhile, the second track of the film Soni Soni was released recently, which features Pashmina Roshan and Rohit Saraf. In the romantic number, Rohit and Pashmina demonstrate their seamless chemistry and exceptional dancing skills. Rochak Kohli composed the music, and Gurpreet Saini wrote the lyrics. Darshan Raval, Jonita Gandhi, and Rochak Kohli sang the song. Vijay Ganguly brilliantly crafted the captivating dancing routines. Set against the backdrop of an outdoor party, the song has the potential to be the perfect romantic track for the season.

The 2003 film Ishq Vishk, starring Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and Shenaz Treasurywala was a huge success. Tips Films, owned by Ramesh and Jaya Taurani, produced Ishq Vishk Rebound. The film, directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari, is set to hit theatres on June 21, 2024.
