Ha Sung-woon’s Agency Denies 'Copying' Baek Yerin’s 0310 For Love Next Door OST
People began raising concerns about similarities between the song What Are We and Baek Yerin’s 2019 track 0310.

Ha Sung-woon’s agency has responded to the plagiarism allegations regarding his OST What Are We, performed for the hit tvN drama Love Next Door. On October 4, fans raised concerns about the similarities between What Are We and Baek Yerin’s 2019 track 0310. Many fans noted that the two songs sounded remarkably alike, leading to a surge of accusations online. Since Baek Yerin was both the writer and composer of 0310, many believed her original work had been copied. In response, Baek Yerin took to Instagram to voice her frustration, stating, “It must suck for you to copy. Feel bad. If you want a song like mine, please ask me so.”

Along with her post, she also shared several Instagram Stories from fans, which included comments like “Why do I hear ‘0310’?” and “Is it okay to release a remake (LOL) just as you wish without the original artist knowing,” reports Soompi.

This only intensified the conversation around the issue. In response to the growing controversy, Ha Sung-woon’s agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, released an official statement to clarify his involvement with the song.

The agency’s statement reads, “Hello, this is Big Planet Made Entertainment. In response to the plagiarism claims raised by Baek Yerin on SNS today (October 4) regarding the OST ‘What Are We’ for the drama ‘Love Next Door,’ sung by Ha Sung-woon, we want to make it clear that Ha Sung-woon was not involved in the alleged plagiarism. Ha Sung-woon and our agency only participated as a vocalist for the OST, which was requested by the drama’s production team. He had no role in the songwriting, composition, or arrangement of the song ‘What Are We.’”

They added, “That said, we sincerely regret that the OST, performed by Ha Sung-woon, has been caught up in a plagiarism controversy and has caused concern among fans. We would like to stress once again that Ha Sung-woon is not related to the plagiarism issue, and we hope for a peaceful resolution between Baek Yerin and the OST production company.”

The agency emphasised that neither Ha Sung-woon nor Big Planet Made Entertainment had any involvement in the creation of the OST beyond his role as a vocalist. They also expressed regret that the song has become a point of concern for fans and clarified that they hope for a fair resolution between Baek Yerin and the production team responsible for the OST.
