BTS' J-Hope Surprises Fans with Full Version of 'Blue Side' on 3rd Anniversary of Mixtape
BTS member J-Hope has dropped the full version of his solo track Blue Side on the third anniversary of his mixtape Hope World.

Jung Ho-seok aka J-Hope, one of the rappers from boyband BTS and main dancer, has dropped the full version of his solo track Blue Side on the third anniversary of his first mixtape Hope World. The re-imagined version of the mixtape’s final song is an extension of the original.

Featuring more lines and a new sound while still retaining the charm of the original version, the track shows off J-Hope’s impressive growth as both a rapper and songwriter. The singer-dancer-wrapper explained the reason for releasing the new “complete" version in a letter to their fans, the AMRYs.

“It’s March 2. It has been three years since the Hope World mixtape came to life. Back then, I think I was in a rush to let everyone hear my music. So I let creativity take over and let my body do whatever it wanted to do. I remember, I wrote whatever came to mind as it did. Now that I listen and look back, I feel a little embarrassed about it. Haha.

“But I know that the courage and the mindset I had back then is what led to the birth of the mixtape that is Hope World. Sometimes I miss those times. The times when I was an innocent boy, putting out string of music about whatever was on my mind. And that sentiment is probably why I decided to complete Blue Side," he said.

Fans are as usual showering love on their ‘sunshine’, with the song crossing 4 million views in less than a day. Fans are also happy to see new content being dropped by BTS frequently these days. They recently appeared on MTV Unplugged for an half an hour segment, performing four of their songs and covering Coldplay’s Fix You.

‘Blue Side’ is J-Hope’s first solo release since 2019’s “Chicken Noodle Soup," featuring with Becky G, which made him the first BTS member to earn a Billboard Hot 100 hit on his own. Hope World’s debut on the Billboard 200 made him the highest-charting K-pop solo act on the album tally at the time.
