Arshad Warsi Says Actors Shouldn't be Paid Big Fees: 'Some Actors Earn a Lot... Others Suffer'
Arshad Warsi opened up about the uneven pay distribution in the film industry.

Arshad Warsi shared his two cents on the imbalanced pay scale in Bollywood. The actor, who is known for several hit films including the Munna Bhai and Golmaal series, admitted there is a massive difference in pay among actors. He added actors should not be paid such big fees because it affects those who don’t quote a big pay.

“Mujhe lagta hai itna zyada jo mil raha hai, wo nahi milna chahiye, problem wo hai. Mujhe lagta hai ke kya ho gaya hai, the payscale itna uncha ho gaya hai ke it has put a line between A and B. (I feel actors should not be paid so much like they are getting paid, that is a problem. I think what has happened is the payscale is so high for a few actors that there is a line drawn between two actors),” Arshad said, while speaking on Unfiltered by Samdish.

“Some actors are earning a lot of money. Unko compensate karne ke liye, jo baaki ke log hai wo bichare suffer kar rahe hai (Others are suffering while compensating for the other half’s big fees),” he added. In the same interview, Arshad was asked how much he earns a year. The actor jokingly shoved aside the question and even quipped at a point that he earns at least Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakhs a year.

Arshad has been a part of several multi-starrers and has shouldered big titles solo as well. The actor set the ball rolling for the Jolly LLB series and was also seen carrying Asur, an OTT series. The films in his pipeline include some exciting projects. This includes the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle and Jolly LLB 3. Both the projects star Akshay Kumar as well. Coincidentally, Arshad’s last big screen outing was also with Akshay. They had starred in Bachchhan Paandey together.
